Read, Play, Grow: Investing in Early Learning That Makes a Difference
On May 30, the Early Childhood Resource Center will host the Read, Play, Grow Professional Development Conference, a full-day experience designed to strengthen early learning through literacy, play, and social-emotional development. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and brings together nationally recognized presenters with practical strategies that support both educators and the children they serve.
The day features Eric Litwin, former classroom teacher and New York Times best-selling original author of the beloved Pete the Cat series, along with Groovy Joe and The Nuts. Known for his dynamic, music-infused approach, Eric connects early literacy, joy, and engagement in ways that resonate with educators and learners alike.
Also presenting are
The Play Coaches, Dani Svantner and Wendy Turcott, nationally recognized trainers and speakers who lead interactive workshops on supporting big emotions and using play to build brains, strengthen relationships, and promote lifelong learning. Their research-informed, heart-centered approach emphasizes that strong relationships and emotional well-being are foundational to educational success.
Designed for anyone working with children from birth through kindergarten, including early care programs, libraries, and community partners, Read, Play, Grow highlights the critical role early learning plays in healthy development, school readiness, and long-term outcomes. Events like this reflect a shared commitment among educators, funders, businesses, and community leaders to invest in the earliest years, when impact is greatest.
