Stark County Transition Skills Summary Collaborative ProjectThrough the leadership of Stark County’s early learning partners, the Transition Skills Summary (TSS) was created in 2004. It has been used throughout Stark County and shared with other counties as well. With support from the TSS Collaborative Project partners, the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC), Stark Education Partnership (SEP), and State Support Team 9, a new tool was recently adopted to support an improved administration process.

The TSS is aligned with the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning and Developmental Standards used in early learning programs. The TSS serves to close the achievement and opportunity gap for early learners by fortifying solid foundations for students, both in academics and social-emotional growth. The TSS is a tool that can be used by early childhood sites, teachers, and parents to ensure a child's "readiness" at their age level, when entering kindergarten, and ultimately for life-long success.
