The SUTQ Success Curriculum provides a three-step process to become highly rated. It breaks down a seemingly overwhelming process into incremental achievements of stars along the way. It includes well-thought-out leveled technical assistance, professional development, and supports throughout the process.
For child care programs wishing to enter into the tiered quality rating and improvement system, we offer the SUTQ 101 Sessions in 3 locations across the region. SUTQ 101 is designed for non-rated programs and includes four work sessions and one-two technical assistance visits. SUTQ 101 prepares programs for application. Work session topics include:
- Review of the program standards
- Understanding forms
- Introduction to lesson planning, ELDS, earlychildhoodohio.org
- Entering information into Ohio Professional Registry
- Navigating the Ohio Child Licensing and Quality System (OCLQS)
Each region will offer two cohorts (4 work sessions each) per year, which can accommodate up to 30 programs. Information on licensing infractions that prevent programs from achieving their desired star rating will also be shared in an effort to help programs plan the appropriate time for applying. Download the flyer or current schedule of SUTQ 101 Sessions.
The Step Up To Qualty Success Forums occur quarterly in each region and are targeted at star rated programs. Forums include topics such as identifying and implementing curriculum and assessments, low-moderate-serious risk non-compliance, staff education and training requirements, etc. These meetings will provide a forum to discuss topics related to quality, opportunities to share ideas and connect with peers, and get professional development. Download a flyer or call your local ECRC location for information.
