Welcome to Sprout Learning!

Sprout Learning is a retail brand of the Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC), a non-profit agency located in Canton, Ohio whose mission is to improve the quality of education and care for young children ages birth-8. Initial development of the Sprout Learning backpacks was made possible by a grant from SPARK (Supporting Partnerships to Assure Ready Kids), an initiative originally funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in partnership with the Sisters of Charity Foundation of Canton. Profits from the sale of the early learning backpacks underwrite professional development, resources and support services for teachers, caregivers and parents in our region.

Sprout Learning backpacks contain high quality early learning materials, books and activities and are designed to support the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning Content Standards. Whether the user is a parent, advocate or an educator, Sprout backpacks provide the tools to support Kindergarten readiness and build the skills necessary for school success. Sprout Learning backpacks provide developmentally appropriate content designed for children ages 3-8 and can be used in a variety of settings including the child’s home or a child care setting.

Sprout Themes!

Each backpack uses a thematic approach to incorporate learning in each of the Content areas, including Math, Science, Social Studies and Language Arts. Activity guides provide easy to follow instructions, along with a variety of ideas to stimulate conversation and support children’s’ learning beyond the backpack. There are currently 20 topics included in the collection, with additional backpacks currently in production.
