Family Child Care

Since January 2000, the Sisters of Charity Foundation has provided financial support for a quality enhancement project for family child care providers in Stark County. Our goal is to improve the quality of home-based child care by offering training, resources and technical assistance.

Today our project has expanded immensely to include a wide array of services and professional opportunities for family child care providers in our county. These support services include:

  • Free membership to a toy/resource lending library that includes a wide array of books, equipment, curriculum kits, and professional resources (Membership application below)
  • Scholarships to attend Child Development Associate Classes
  • Access to a USDA food reimbursement program for serving nutritional meals to the children in your program
  • Access to free training and program assistance including start-up consultation
  • Access to quality enhancement services including Accreditation through the National Association of Family Child Care and free consultation visits
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) training specifically designed to meet the needs of family child care
  • Access to community events, curriculum ideas and program information by way of a quarterly newsletter
  • Access to networking opportunities through the support of our local provider associations and family child care events

For more information on how you can access these services, please call (330) 491-3272 Ext. 224 or by email.
