Stark County Transition Skills Checklist

Kindergarten registrations for four and five year olds have begun. The transition from preschool to kindergarten is an important time for children and their families. If you are working with young children moving on to kindergarten, you can be an enormous help in paving their way. Governor Ted Strickland continues to work with the Early Childhood Cabinet, established in 2007, to unite key state agencies around the common goal of promoting school readiness by setting and coordinating state policy and programs which serve Ohio’s children, prenatal to six years.

Step Up to Quality

Step up to Quality is a voluntary Three-Star Quality Rating System designed to recognize the efforts of licensed early care and education programs that take incremental steps towards improving quality. Programs that have had a non-compliance within the past 12 months are eligible to participate as an Emerging Star.
